Talking An excited old newbie

It's arrived. It got here. My new film scanner. Picked it up at lunch time today. Got it home at supper time. Then it took me six hours to get it working. And WOW, does that digital ICE work, or what.
Jumps and heel clicks.

Re: An excited old newbie

Congratulations! I can feel your excitement.

What brand/model did you get?

How did you decide on that one?

Re: An excited old newbie

Good morning Danny.
It seems to me, after considerable browsing on the net, that Nikon generally gets better reviews. I opted for a Coolscan V ED with ICE4. A Supercoolscan 8000 would have been nice, but $$$$$$ got in the way. Although it took 6 hrs to set up (another story) instalation realy was a breeze. After a few false starts I got my first preview, and man was it dirty. A pass with ICE and, WOW, it was a whole new picture. It's funny, you see reports and before/after pics, but you don't realize how effective ICE is until you've used it yourself.
Have a good one.
