Gday from Victoria, Australia Another newbie from Australia here. I am so overwhelmed by photoshop at times, am very limited in my knowledge and usage. Would love to find out ways to improve my skills, perhaps find a PS mentor... Anywho, I will start sifting through the forums for bits and pieces... Giddyup Lloyd

Re: Gday from Victoria, Australia Hi Lloyd, Welcome to RetouchPro. Have a good look around the tutorial section if you're wanting to learn a little. Also ask questions. We're a pretty friendly lot here (as long as you don't mention the Ashes), so any problems ask away, there's nearly always someone who's willing to help.

Re: Gday from Victoria, Australia Gday Gary, Thanks for that. I will say that cricket is not really of great interest to me now, so you wont have to worry about that so much... I am finding it somewhat overwhelming whenever I research photoshop, trying to identify what I need to work on. Its like building a house, I have bits and pieces, but want to get the foundation right before adding framework! I am not sure where to start, as my knowledge is limited. I am also thinking there would be several ways to edit a photo, so no real right or wrong correct?... Would it be advisable to upload a photo for suggestions on to how to edit from start to finish? I really need to establish or improve my workflow, and most photos that need editing tend to have similar problems... having said that I feel a bit out of place being so ps illiterate!...

Re: Gday from Victoria, Australia If you want to upload a photo for advice, I'm sure there's lots of members who'd be more than happy to talk you through things. Flora has written some instructions on posting Images to the forums Here Don't worry about being a newbie, we've all been there. There's no one on this site that didn't start exactly where you are now. If you want a good book to read on retouching techniques, I heartily recommend "Photoshop Restoration & Retouching" by Katrin Eismann. Master the techniques in her book and you'll have a pretty good foundation to work from.
