| Re: i need some shadow help please. Here's about five minutes work along with the relevant layers. I created a soft-light neutral layer above the background (Put your finger on the alt/opt key when adding a new layer, select Soft Light, and check the 50% neutral fill box). I then painted on this layer with white, using 5% opacity to slowly build up the lighting effect. This tended to wash out the color, so I added a new layer, chose color as the blending mode, sampled a color from the girl's face, then painted at 100%. Once I covered over the parts of the face that had become desaturated, I brought the opacity of the layer down to 55%. This was literally about five minutes of work, but with more time, you'll get much better results.
There were tons of jpg artifacts, but I assume you have a high-res version where this won't be a problem.
Hope this helps.
