Smile Hi everyone. New to posting here.

Hello all. Just came back on the site after a long period of down time. I have never posted here before and it says I should say hello, so here goes. Not sure if I'm doing it right but I'm sure someone will let me know.

I live in Kingman, Az. and have been "messing" around with all the image programs for a few years. I started out with Photo Shop 5 I think it was than got version 7 and used that for everthing. Now I have CS3 Extended with all the plug-ins I could find. (really expensive)...:-)

I'm interested in mainly Photo Restorations and Colorizing B&W.

Oh, and I'm 2 months from being 68 yrs old, am married and been with the same woman for 42 years.

This time I'll be more active. I forgot I was even registered here...;-)

Welcome back to RetouchPro Yochanan.

I'm not quite as senior as you and OlBaldy, but no spring chicken all the same.

Now you've "broken your duck" and posted for the first time, we look forward to hearing from you a little more, and especially to seeing any work you'd like to submit.

Hi Gary. I'm still having a little trouble figuring out how to post. One of the reasons I didn't last year...;-) I was using PhotoShop 7, but never did anything serious, just a little touch up work, but lost all of my good stuff when I saved everything on DVD from Win98SE. Then I found out it won't read the disk on XP! So, I'm starting all over. Plus, CS3 is really different and I need a little time to get the hang of it.

Question: When you post your work, do you upload the Before and After Photos?

And thanks for the warm welcome,
John (A.K.A. Yochanan)

Down here in Mesa, 105° today. As far as I know, if you saved files on DVD with Win98, Xp should be able to read them. The file types should be the same regardless of the operating system.

Re: Hi everyone. New to posting here.

Actually, I used the wrong program to back up my files. I used DVDSanta 4.5 and it did the back up, but only some of my data files will work. All of the Mid files that my son and I recorded won't play (I play the electric keyboards). They will copy to the HD, then won't run. Same with the pic's. DVDSanta is only for converting and saving videos. I didn't know that at the time...;-(

I'll have some pic's to up load soon though...after I print out the instrutions for doing so.
