The Photoshop Effect

A couple of youtube videos about the "Photoshop Effect", where women (perhaps) harm themselves by comparing the way they look with retouched images.

I don't agree with their recommendation for a warning label on retouched images, I do think it would be hilarious if someone actually made the stickers they show.

And here's an article about a proposed magazine publisher solution (trivia: see if you can spot the double-passive sentence):

Re: The Photoshop Effect

A warning label??? Oh, please! We women aren't that stupid! Someone needs to remind them that before the digital era, models were expected to be healthy and flawless. More time was spent ON SET correcting every little detail. Of course, all of this takes time and we all know that time is money! That's where digital enhancement comes in handy... One great retoucher replaces the work of a whole crew!

Wake up! Before it was done on set, now it's done with Photoshop!

Re: The Photoshop Effect

This was funny some of the comments the interviewer made were a bit naive.

Likewise the photog said that celebs have their own retoucher that works on all the shots.
I thought this was a bit of a stretch since generally art director, ad agency typically works with the retouchers. The way he made it sound was like retoucher John Smith does all the photos for celeb A.
