| | | Any worth to be Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) Hi,
After spending 10 yrs. with photoshop and completing thousand of retouching and restroation projects Now my mind turned to be Adobe Certified Expert (ACE).
Why ? bcoz someone pointed me to do it. I asked him for benefits and he was unable to tell something very-very good.
So, I thought that this is a very good place to discuss about the important benefits of this exam. Is there any worth if we give ACE exam ? Is there any preference to ACE in our commercial and freelance society ?
This discussion will helpful to all of the other retouchers too.
So, I'm waiting for your valuable inputs.
Thanks.

Also remember that being ace certified only certifies you for the version you took the exam for

| | | Re: Any worth to be Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) probably not if you're going for a retouching job or a production artist position - where portfolio is optimal. But studying for the ACE test lets you delve into every aspect of photoshop and gives you a very in-depth knowledge and all-in-all it can't hurt a resume. I was PS 6 ACE certified and PS CS1 ACE certified. I won't do it anymore because Photoshop has gotten huge with features and would take forever to study for and also I am in a position where I now have a portfolio |

| | | Re: Any worth to be Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) I’ve thought about trying to get the ACE certification I even got the material and studied for it.
You can use the logo and say you are an ACE expert if you get it.
But it only last a year I think and then you spend another $200 or $300 dollars to get re certified and the new test is on the latest version so you have to spend the money to stay in the latest version of Photoshop also.
Just seem like the expense far out weighs the benefits of it. |

| | | Re: Any worth to be Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) There are so many retouchers out there with frankly very limited TECHNICAL knowledge and skills that being ACE can't do any harm, certainly it proves a certain amount of application and effort to an employer. And thats not to be taken for granted. The problem with ACE is that it covers a whole lot of areas and applications which have very little to do with retouching really |
