I've been contacted by "a major national news organization" about a possible story concerning people that have used retouching to alter their own personal history. They're looking to interview several of these people directly, rather than "I had a client who..." stories.
Contact me via PM or
send me an email with your story and email address and I'll forward your information. (if you're reading this past July 31, 2008, this is too old)
Here's the description I got:
...seeking people to speak to who have either doctored photos themselves, or paid to have them doctored, through Photoshop to accomplish one of the following goals (and not just as gags):
* To add a person to a picture who was not present when the photo was shot.
* To remove a person from a shot who was there when it was shot.
* To change the setting of a shot by moving subjects from the setting where the photo was actually snapped to some other setting.
* To substantially alter one's own looks, or the looks of a friend or family member (for example: to remove a double-chin or spare tire around the middle, to change one's hair color, to change the color of one's clothes, etc.).
* To perform any other substantial modification to an important image, either to commemorate a loved one, remove the memory of one who is less-than-loved, to inspire, to recast one's personal or family history, etc.
This is totally on the up-and-up, and I think it's an important story to get out there.
Remember, PM me or
email me directly,
don't post your story here.
