Re: The 2008 Olympics!

pixelzombie,

the opening ceremonies were about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. then came the march of countries, which is pretty tame. that is followed by the raising of the olympic flag and then the lighting of the torch. so, if you leave out the march of countries, it might be 2 to 2 1/2 hours? maybe 3?

ah, pixel monkey, you must be seeing it like an hour after i am. i've already seen the end and yes, the torch is the last major event.

Wow...they saved the best for last. I was wondering where the real torch was when they announced the last torch barrier...didn't expect that.

Re: The 2008 Olympics!

it certainly looked impressive, but then again they spent 30 million for that...

Re: The 2008 Olympics!

Was trying to stay unimpressed because it's China and I really disagree with athletes who live and work and make tons of money in the USA going to play against us when it's Olympic time (or USA kids who can't make our team so they go play against us) BUT watching the mens' 4x100 relay last night did it.

Kids giving everything they've got to win something for their country. Hard to be unimpressed by that.

Re: The 2008 Olympics!

Many innovative and wonderful performances at the opening ceremony. The people were of course great and the video displays were amazing.
