Re: Hi...I'm new here...

Erina, I signed up for a month to watch the themes of interest, but as stated before: I am not really going for a retouch profession, I already have a job which I sort of like :-)
Maybe you'll need to wait for someone who is earning a living from retouching to give you further advice

Hello Erina,

If you have an artistic background and understand the basics of Photoshop, I'm sure you will find everything that you need here! I've learned more here in two months than I have in the past two years... Too bad I didn't come across this site sooner!

Re: Hi...I'm new here...

Hi Erinavery,

Below is the tutorial for "The Face". I did this several years ago and it took me awhile locate the tutorial I wrote. Hope this is what you need.

Realistic Pencil Sketches - By Lisa (sorry I do not know her last name) She is credited with
the first 3 steps.
Create realistic pencil sketches from color photos quick and easy.
1. This is a quick and easy method rendering realistic looking pencil sketches from
photographs. (Best on even toned photographs.) Open an image style you want to convert to
a pencil sketch.
2. Make a duplicate layer then with the copy layer active. Select Image/Adjust/Invert. Next
select Image/Mode/Grayscale and do not flatten the image.
3. Go to the layers palette and change the Blend Mode of the copy layer to Color Dodge. The
image will all but disappear. Don’t worry we are about to bring it back. Select
Filter/Blur/Gaussian Blur and adjust blur radius between 2.5 and 3.5 (these number vary
greatly with the image) for a natural looking pencil sketch.
Pastel Sketch
1. After creating a pencil sketch of your image Select/All and copy the sketch.
2. Open the original color image.
3. Paste the pencil sketch over the original image.
4. Use the History Brush set at - normal, 8% opacity, 38% flow. Go over image lightly. Let
just a hint of color come through.
Final Step
Use Virtual Painter color pencil filter and fade slightly.
