Newbie Hullo!

Just joined.. so I've a lot o' reading to catch up on in here! I'm an auld daft Scotsman whose done a bit of work in portraits/landscapes in oils & watercolour. Doing portraits takes it's toll on the eyes especially when people ask u tae produce work from a picture that 2" square! So I decided to buy DSLR recently & before I kent where I wis..I had also bought PSE & a bamboo tablet (my turf accountant provided the funds) as I thought that I will probably spend alot o time trying tae sort bad photo's. So far I've adopted: bad exposure ; focus ; & purple fringe as camera's sometimes dont dae whit ye think they're gaunnae dae!

So I hope tae learn a loat in here!
(Only took me 1.5 hrs tae learn hootae write this message!)

John

Re: Hullo!

Thanks fur the welcome's Palms & Graeme. There's alot o stuff way above my heid in here!! I've been trying tae find some info on RGB and all I can find is about colour space (the theories o' which will proababbly be discussed fur millenia.. Palms, as a senior member, do ye think I should post a threid askin
a simple ? like "Where is Yellow in RGB?" is it Green -Blue. I can mix colours but in PSE I wid like to understand RGB colour values a bit better so that it might make numerical selection a bit easier.. right noo i find it difficult tae equate the numbers !

Dae ye need tae sit a drivin' test tae navigate aroon' this site?

Thanks agane!
John

Re: Hullo!

Hi John

You are not on your own about there being a lot here over your head
by all means do start a thread about colour that way any members in the "know " can answer you or point you in the right direction ( my tip is to ask for your level of understanding in the hope you wont get too many answers that go over your head ) i would post it in this forum

input/output/workflow

As for a driving licence to navigate it might help but you will get used to it

If not sure on anything always ask a question there are a lot of very helpful, knowledgeable people here
