Hello from sunny coastal South Carolina, USA.
Started fooling around with Photoshop five or six years ago as a retirement hobby, then began providing entry-level restos as an ancillary service in the mail store where I was working part-time. Resto business picked up quicker than I expected, accompanied by progressively damageder (I just made that word up) photos. And that prompted me to ferret out Web-based tutorials to keep up with the increasing complexity.
I had been lurking around RetouchPRO for solutions to <challenges> encountered with some of the more mutilated photos the customers were bringing in...and this site bailed me out of many perplexing situations.
This July, after seven years in retail shipping, I decided that the daily stint of six-to-eight hours on my feet and schlepping heavy packages was no longer my idea of a good time so I retired again (my first retirement was in 1999 after 35 years in the advertising business.) I still provide an occasional freelance resto to the store, but most of my work is now for Operation Photo Rescue.
I see an occasional mention of RetouchPRO on OPR's forums, so I thought it may be time to go legitimate, join this group and offer a little reciprocity for the assistance RetouchPRO's given me in the past.
Short version: nice to be here.
