Newbie to the group Hello, My name is Ismael. I have been into photography for a few years but am new to RetouchPro. It has only been two years since I started to retouch(edit) my work. Here is some of my edited photos. Please let me know what you think. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2109/...b343165f62.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/gomezphoto/2454437500/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/gomezph...n/photostream/ Thank you

Re: Newbie to the group Hello and welcome... #1: Watch you’re sharpening; you have a lot of halos. And the middle of the face looks flat... as in no definition. I also think the eyes are too white. #2: this one I really like. The softness brings a good feel to the image. And I really like the layered composition. Makes me want to be there. #3: the soft look for here is good, but there are some bumps and dark spots. Also, why does she have a hair band in the image... not good. As for the eye color... it’s good in concept, but your execution is off; they are too sharp, bright and vibrant in my view. Be careful when you have a soft skin and very sharp eyes, sometimes it’s too much contrast. Mind you, nothing here is horrible... and any normal customer would probably think your really good... Im just looking at this in a critical way, so you can get better. Hope it helps, -Keven

Re: Newbie to the group Thank you for your comments and critique. I do have to a lot to learn on sharpening. Not to mention getting used to my new larger monitor. Going from 15" to 20" has played some games with my editing. Sometimes I lack attention to details like the hair band as I am concentrating on other parts. I agree it was a good concept and yes it was poorly done from the beginning.

As for the eye color... sometimes its just the hint of color that can take a picture to the next level. Like for example, look at the background and the couch, there all black and white. The books and the people are in color. -Keven |

Re: Newbie to the group hahaha Yeah but your mess up is in editing. That can be fixed. Mine can but it will take a lot of cropping or editing it out the hair band.

Re: Newbie to the group The books were the "pop of color". B&W was to emphasize the people. -Keven
