| Re: child hood songs/artists With removable handle!! And a beautiful solid Oak cabinet with little felt lined drawers for the needle storage and slots for storage of the 1/2 inch thick records below... the horn was just above the needle! lol Compare that to an IPod... things have really changed over the years! BTW... used to walk 5 miles to school in the snow and up hill both ways also! |

| Re: child hood songs/artists I love this link but I have not even heard of a few of the songs you mentioned so I am lookin' 'em up. I really don't have many in my vast memory but a couple for you. " I had a dog __________? and Bingo was his name-oh, B I NGO, B I NGO, B I NGO and Bingo was his name oh." "How much is is that doggie in the window?" and my favorite of all and I even have it in my I-touch, "Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh, cuddly little fellow all stuffed with fluff." As a kid I had crushes all the time, even as a young kid of 6 or so. I distinctly remember buying the 45 at the age of about 9 I guess and playing it for my "girlfriend". Little did I know what it meant, haha. It was the Starland Vocal Band singing "Afternoon Delight". Good Lord look at the lyrics to that one. Little did I know but it wooed her just the same. c |

| Re: child hood songs/artists Quote:
my grandkids have a play station with a game called singstar ( you hook mike's up and sing your heart out,)they love it and winnie the pooh is one of the songs they sing along too regularly interesting choice of record for a 9 year old but i suppose you could claim innocence The "pop" music ones i remember fondly ( mom and dads of course) are "bits and pieces" by the Dave Clark Five where you had to madly stamp your feet to the music ( often we were sent outside for that bit ) "Lets twist again" Chubby Checker and of course the trick was to see who could twist the longest then there was the embarrassment of Dad walking down the road singing to you "i want to hold your hand " Beatles ![]() ![]() Palms |
