New to the Forums, new to editing

Good evening all! Just thought I'd say hello quick, and let you know that I'm looking forward to learning a lot from the contributions you've made to this forum.

I'm a 33 year old dad living in Ohio, and for the past two years I've been reading a lot about photography. Back at Christmas, I was given my first dSLR, a Canon 40D. It came with the kit lens (28-135mm), and I also bought the Nifty 50, and have been very happy with it. My next purchase will be the 580EX II Speedlight, and probably a stroboframe. (And a diffuser. Maybe. I've already kind of made my own for a flash that I borrowed.)

I also just recently purchased PS CS4, and have been amazed by what it can do. I honestly do NOT have any sort of art or photography background, so a lot of what I've read about post processing is complete Greek to me. I've been trying to find tutorials, and have been going through CS4 Classroom in a book...but I'm finding that retouching is definitely an art that is going to take some time to learn. Thanks in advance for your patience with me!

Take care all!
