I'm from Kansas and president of Operation Photo Rescue. It seems like when the going gets tough on some of our hard restorations, members of Retouch Pro give advice and handy tutorial links to your site. I have always enjoyed browsing your site--even when it means staying up way late! Decided to take the plunge and join.
I started out as a technical writer in aerospace and then after being laid off in 2005 went back to school. I enrolled in a graphic arts program and got hooked. It wasn't until spring of 2007 that I got hooked in photo restoration. One morning I opened the morning paper and saw a story and photo of a lady in a wheel chair holding what remained of her wedding pictures that were destroyed in the Coffeyville flood. I contacted the newspaper to see if I could help restore her photos, but never could make contact with her. Instead I joined OPR after seeing a plug for OPR by Katrin Eismann on her website for Photoshop Restoration & Retouching. That fall I headed up a group for an OPR copy run to Coffeyville to help those whose photos had been damaged by the flood. We came back with around 800 photos--digitally photographed, uploaded, restored and later printed--and I've been hooked every since.
