Hello everyone

I just joined the forum today, although I have been lurking for some time. I got my first copy of photoshop in the mid 90's (PS3) while I was working as a commercial photographer in my own business in Las Vegas, that business became more of a publishing business and I needed Photoshop, and Quark. When InDesign came out I immediately went there, Its ability to convert to PDF was very helpful to me. Alas after many years my business went bankrupt and I was cast upon the shores of Lake Michigan, broke and broken.

Now middle aged I have never lost my love of photography, graphic design and especially photo manipulation. I just need to learn how to get paid, most companies won't hire me because I'm not young and my experience is dated, but I have stayed up to date. I am currently working with Photoshop CS3 extended almost exclusively on photo restorations, although I am learning a lot about HDR...mostly...don't overuse it...LOL

Re: Hello everyone

I do photo restoration also.
Mainly using Paint Shop Pro (more user friendly).

Sorry to hear about your bankrupcy.
Your right about age being a factor in being hired.
It sounds like you have a lot of experience to bring to the table.

Starting over is tough. Don't give up!

Re: Hello everyone

Welcome MichiganRob,
Tough life experiences but that may work for you when the right opportunity opens up. I've already left my career behind (art teacher) but I found it necessary to keep up with the art scene. Here's a great place to start.
