| I'm going about this a bit backwards as I kinda introduced myself in my first post...didn't realise the salon was for introductions!! Anyways, greetings from Ireland I'm living in Cork, Ireland, and have come here desperately seeking advice about fixing an old newspaper cutting. I'm not too sure anything can really be done with it, but I might as well try! The irony is that I work in a photography gallery, but I'm a framer, not a photographer, hence why I'm way out of my depth I'm really happy to have found this site, and I think I'm going to be spending a lot of time here! | Re: Hello :) Hello Kenny, I presume you are going to scan the newspaper clipping. For scans with black ink on both sides of the paper, better scan results can be obtained by using a black sheet on the reverse side to the one you are scanning. A dark backing that matches the color of the text as close as possible. You then scan at the highest hardware resolution and in the highest bit color. After loading this image in your pixel editor there are many routes to obtain your area of interest from the image. If you post a good image of the clipping those here may comment on how to proceed and give examples. |
