yes we have missed a lot of summers ! today and this weekend we are forecast to have about 25 degrees but Monday we will be back to 15 !

My son hit the nail on the head yesterday when talking about his holiday in grand canaria " It was so weird waking up each morning knowing that the sky was going to be blue ! "
here in the UK we never know what the weather will be like from one weekend to the next

"Baked smog", ha, that sums it up!

PS: We were visiting Pasadena last weekend... Strangely quiet on a Sunday evening, or is that normal?

I hope you mean Celsius. lol

Have to remember, here in the US, we use Faherenheit. and 15ºF will cause pipes to burst (and it would still be quite icy at 25ºF).

PS; yes I know Celsius since that's pretty much what we had to use in Engineering courses that I had no choice but to take in College (metric is easier to work with, but my gut feels in British Units which England abandoned a long time ago).

Re: Volcano in Iceland

I should add, though, there's nothing like the lipstick neon sunsets in LA, where the sky goes all brightly gradient as the sun slips behind the mountains, throwing them into silhouette.

Here are a couple of image+vector sunset illustrations I did years ago in Canvas X.

And don't forget the wonderful diffusion created by the smog, great for portraits.

(cough-cough)

Re: Volcano in Iceland

Stumbling around Old Town, eh? ;-)

Glad you liked the pix. I mixed bitmap and vector elements with full editability (Canvas lets you do that on the same page without switching apps. Waiting for Adobe to grok the concept...).

Re: Volcano in Iceland

hehe. colorodo blvd on a sat. night was a party on wheels

never tried canvas. sounds good. i saw another program a few years ago that claimed to mix vector and bitmap, but never checked it out. i have both capabilities in psp but they dont play together very well.

Re: Volcano in Iceland

Xara Xtreme is a bit like that, I think, and PhotoLine 32 as well. But Canvas is the easiest and gets you spoiled quickly.

it's dead for Mac now (as of 2005, but it still works even in Snow Leopard), but they still develop the Windows version.

I just noticed on this link I have the pix I posted earlier plus a variation showing LA getting nuked-!. All vector except the city lights (taken from Mt. Wilson). You can apply image filters/some plug-ins to vector objects, much like with IL.
