Greetings from Elizabethtown, PA

I have been enjoying photography since I graduated from high school in 1966. Started with a Kodak Signet 35 , then a Yashica IC, then a Minolta X570, then went digital with a Kodak EasyShare CX7430, and finally a Canon Rebel XT. I enjoy landscapes, historical places, and Steam and Tractor shows. Also enjoy taking photos of my 3 grandkids!

For years I worked with PhotoDeluxe Home Edition 4.0. Lately I have been trying learn PhotoShop Elements 3.0. I used PhotoDeluxe to reconstruct decals for my antique rototillers and restore some old photos. I recently scanned our wedding slides and put them in a wmv with music and put that on a DVD for our 40th wedding anniversary.

I am hoping to learn more about photo editing on this site and how to better restore old photos.

Welcome to RetouchPro, chzuck!

Wow, you've been busy - "reconstructed decals for antique rototillers" - I hadn't even heard about anyone keeping rototillers around long enough to become antiques! Scanned your wedding slides, added music and made a DVD video -- cool work! All that even before you came to look at the website here. Hope you find some new ideas and techniques, and I'm sure you'll keep finding new projects to create. Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome! So much to learn in this digital age.

The stuff made today won't be around near as long as the stuff we call antiques.

You are SO right on BOTH counts! The learning is interesting and fun (even when frustrating), but the speedy obsolescence and deterioration of all our stuff isn't fun. I even have trouble keeping a handle on a shovel nowadays.

Enjoy the forums!!

Hi chzuck! welcome. I also live in PA and we have some old time rootin' tootin' steam trains running again in Scranton & Honesdale, and every year we get to the tractor parade. It is an enjoyable passtime.
Keep active in the Forums...I learned a lot here.
