| Hello. Here I am. Hi. My name is Jamie and I found the site while Googling some photoshop actions. I've been shooting since I was 17 and was heavily involved with the Photostaff at Virginia Tech when I was there in late 80-early 90s doing mostly black and white processing and printing for the school paper. I took a long break after college and got into shooting with a Nikon D40 in 2007. I got a D90 last year and am very happy and having so much fun. I'm hoping to offer and glean some good tips and tricks on the forums. Thanks for having me. |

| Re: Hello. Here I am. Actually, missing the darkroom is complicated. I spent so many hours in it with good friends composing and printing together. You don't get that camaraderie at a terminal. However, none of my shirts have little brown spots on them and my fingers don't stink. Our darkroom was a re-done large women's room under a dining hall. The storage closet was used for film changes and we had a huge water table for the chemicals and a separate large sink for film processing. We had 5 enlargers and a full sized fridge for paper and beer. The ceiling was like 10 feet so it was even a passable studio space. Then again, being able to shoot several hundred frames without reloading is very nice too. |
