Hello Salon forum….I just joined a few minutes ago… I'm looking forward to learning from the entire RetouchPro village.
I've acquired a large sum of old b/w photos that date from about 1920 to 1960 all in various stages of decay. I've got to come up to speed quickly on restoration techniques.
I'm working with a newer Mac and
PSE 6. I've familar with
ps elements for making improvements to exposure and color. I'm weak on the use of layers to produce special effects.
I'm also using a flatbed scanner to input files and I'm not sure if thats a problem or not. My original scans always pick up paper texture and sheen so I don't know if I'm creating more work for myself or not.
I'm good with removing dust and cloning out scratches but weak on reducing noise and patterns.
I would appreicate all the help I can get… regards, iBear60
