What is this story?

I'm trying to remember a story, but I can only recall bits. There's this elephant that is afraid of everything because he's convinced he is weak and frail. It might be a children's story or even a Disney movie. He might be a minor character.

Any ideas about what this story might be?

Re: What is this story?

Could that be Silly Sidney, the Elephant?

Re: What is this story?

No, not Sidney (though I did enjoy watching him on YouTube while checking). He sort of fits, but I'd never heard of him until your post.

Thanks, though.

I think in the end of the story I'm thinking of he realizes that elephants are big and strong, etc.

Re: What is this story?

Did a quick search on timid elephant and found Elmer. You could also be thinking about Dumbo the Elephant.

Re: What is this story?

I originally thought it was Dumbo, but that's a whole different parable. And Elmer is new to me.

But thanks for trying!

Re: What is this story?

how about Babar, though i dont recall that one being about being timid. still, there's got to be a limit on elephant stories and characters.

Re: What is this story?

I seem to recall towards the end there's a problem and the elephant is like "what can I do? I'm all weak and insignificant" and his friend (monkey? parrot?) holds up a mirror and says "what's that on your face?" "a trunk" the elephant replies."And what are those big flappy things on the sides of your head?" "My ears", said the elephant. "And what are those big white things on either side of your trunk?" "My tusks....my goodness! I'm an ELEPHANT!!" and then he knows he's strong enough to fix the problem.
