Are you a Mac person or a PC person?

And we're NOT talking about which computer you prefer:

We have been using Mac's for over 10 years, they are all old now, and when we upgrade it will be to Mac's again.

I did, though my reply can be taken either way (personality or hardware). Of course anyone will exhibit traits from both sides.

Re: Are you a Mac person or a PC person?

After reading the link, I'm clearly a Mac person who grew up with and learned on PCs. So now I'm a MAC person using a PC (like to build my own). A PC is simply the tool I'm most familiar with while I adhere to MAC philosophies. (In the case of a PC vs Mac - when you hand a client their finished print or product, they won't know or care what you use.) :-)

Didn't click then but just did and I'm between 80% and 90% PC (no such things as absolutes in this world) Doug, so I stand by my earlier statement. Just to stir the roost some, click below (but don't get angry with me if you are a MAC person; lol). Also scroll through my other post in the same thread (just to anger MAC people more; lol).

d64, have you built a Hackintosh? That would be the best of both worlds.

Re: Are you a Mac person or a PC person?

I've just joined RetouchPro and this is my first forum, so what a way to start! I personally think that McDonald's fries go well with anything, including Cabernet Sauvignon, so where does that put me? I'm mostly PC, with occasional leanings towards Mac, but only in these tests. In Real Life, I'm a Geek at heart, can't leave a working computer well enough alone, and therefore, can't relate to Steve Jobs doing it all for me with his Macs.

I'm old to Photoshop (PS-2 on a Power PC, then 3.5-7 on PC's), but new to CS5 and RetouchPro looks as though it's going to be a great learning resource. Thanks for having me.

Oh, and yes, I DO sometimes supersize my fries!

Gary

Re: Are you a Mac person or a PC person?

A big welcome to our little place on the WWW Gary. Yeah; I despise control freaks, but usually that means you are one too. lol

I like PCs since I sort of like doing thing my own way and MACs make you do it Steves way, and I just can't live with that. Plus, PCs and peripherals are much cheaper based on some conversations that I've had with MAC folk and being cheap and broke pretty much relegates me to be a PC.

Mac person all the way! Started out on one and have never ventured to the other side.... although I'd have to say that I'm surrounded by PCs in my environment!?!?
