Re: Osama bin Ladin's dead.

A moment to remember. I went to neighbors to share the news and they were texting family/friends like crazy.

May Day will be remembered for a long time that's for sure. Happy I am is way too much an understatement.

This is precisely a quote from a New York City fire fighter on the news that Bin Laden had been shot in the head. I love this guy!

USA!, USA!

Re: Osama bin Ladin's dead.

It's nice to see that the American military gave him a terrorist burial by throwing his body in the ocean like fish guts off of the back of a troller. It makes you wonder how much Pakistani Intelligence knew about his whereabouts all these years. Sounds like they were playing both sides.

Actually the US military was very respectful and mindful of Islamic burial customs by washing the body and wrapping it in a white shroud before placing it into a weight bag. Then a US officer said a prayer which was translated into Arabic and then they slipped the body into the water. The reason that they buried him at sea is there were no countries that accept his body for burial.

I know that this was an evil man but when you're dead, you're dead and then we're all the same. So kudos to the US military for taking the higher ground.

Actually I think the reason for the burial at sea was to preclude the possibility (likely, I should think) of his grave becoming a monument.

Re: Osama bin Ladin's dead.

Maybe so dc, but I would, at the very least, have burned his body in Pig Lard and then spread the remaining ashes into the ocean feeding the fish that would eventually poop out his remains to sink to the depths of oblivion. He got off way too easy unfortunately.

Re: Osama bin Ladin's dead.

Naaaaah, they'll have him tucked away somewhere yanking his fingernails out to find
the rest of Al-Qaeda. Captured they would have human rights do-gooders all over
them, report him as dead and they can do what the hell they want and still kill him
when they've finished with him...

I heard Elton John is bringing out a new song to celebrate - it's called 'Sandals in the bin'.

Re: Osama bin Ladin's dead.

Haha sandals in the bin i like that.

I think he still alive... Captured yes definitely dead nope it funny how he has a quick burial then they don't release any pictures and the one that does showing a beaten bin laden is a really bad fake if u look closely you can see mistakes

Re: Osama bin Ladin's dead.

It's unfortunate that a question mark hangs over the whole issue but I can't see the US president staking his reputation/job on making false claims; I prefer to think the Seals did a great job. That said, I knew the whole Iraq thing was a crock when Colin Powell presented line drawings of Iraqui missile launchers as proof of WMD.
