Cool. I never saw that one. It looks like an airbrushed image. Nice tutorial.

I would be interesting to see what you come up with. Something like this would be interesting for a challenge.

Cool Bike tutorial(my try)

From Scott Andersons' bike tutorial
www.Concept DesignForum.com

My try in Photoimpact v6

Some steps I used

I made most of my shapes in 3d mode

Wheels...An inner and outer 3D circle
Spokes...A rectangular 3d shape ....aligned
top edge tangent to inner circle ...path edit
tool flared end into outer ring ...duplicated
2 x...aligned 120 degrees apart...blurred flares
into outer ring.Merged as single object.

Tires... 3d black circles ...to fit wheels.

Brake discs...inner and outer rings... 2 d shapes
a rect...2d shpe and path edit connecting the two rings
duplicated 35x and aligned each at 10 degrees...merged
duplcated this and reduced the size for the rear wheel desk.

Created some transparency shapes for highlights
on body and wheel spokes

Touched up with paint in some areas

Created a gradient bg.

Added a shadow

Had to guess
on highlights... since
I changed the light source

It took about 10-12 hrs (what with all the screw ups I made)

Incredible Tom! I'm a little surprised I didn't hear the trumpets blowing when that came up.

PI has 3D, didn't know that. Very nice, if you can do that, you can do almost any illistration, a car, house, toaster.
Cool. I think I may have PI but don't use it.

Cool

Fugitive
PI is not a 3d RENDERING program which I think you have in mind.
It' has a draw in object mode 2d and 3 d...for general shapes ...circles..rectangles...squares etc....and shapes you can make with a path tool....these shapes in 2d are flat looking....those in 3d have ability to have a border and the border is what gives it a 3 d look.

I would be interested in seeing some more of your PI work, as I'm always looking for new things, even if there isn't enough hour per day to do it all.
