Wacom Graphire

I'm wondering if someone remembers a thread or a link to replacing a Wacom pen nib with weed-eater line or teeth from a plastic comb. My Graphire tablet is 10 years old and still works great but the pen's nib is almost toast after thousands of hours of use. None of the new pens work with a Graphire and I'd rather not buy a new tablet because of a 25 cent nib. I can't find the thread or link on the net and it's starting to drive me nuts. Anyone remember seeing this thread or link? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Wacom. My understanding is that you can still purchase replacement nibs from them.

Yeah Murry that is the first place I checked. They stopped making this tablet in 2005. They have a pen that they say it's for the Graphire but is always out of stock and they want $50 for it. Even if they had it I can buy a new tablet for $80 here. The pen never came with replacement nibs and I haven't seen them anywhere including their site. I don't even know if you can remove the nib so that's why I'm looking for that thread or site that mentioned the plastic comb thing.

I just bought 5 nibs for my Graphire from Wacom. I believe the code for the nibs is ACK20001, standard nibs. Go under the Store tab under "older Wacom products" and look for that product code number. Or call Linda at Wacom 1-800-922-6613. She was great. I did get the nibs and the one I installed works great. You don't need a new pen if it is just the nib that is the issue.

Wow thanks for the offer K. I found a store in Ontario that has the nibs. Everything was closed here today because of the July 1st holiday long weekend so I will find out tomorrow if they'll send it to their store here. Thanks again.

Well I just picked up my nibs from a Henry's store in town. Cost me $10 and they work so I'm pretty happy right now. Thanks Murry and K for the advice.
