I think you got that wrong. At 18 pounds, it's his chair!

Gary, do you have a face view of your Tiger? He certainly looks very much like a friend's Tuple.

Like Al and others, I can't choose between my kids - currently 2 dogs and 3 cats, but my personality matches cats best. Dogs tend to enjoy/demand a wider circle of social contacts, and this is good for me, but I'm more content with a cat on my lap.

Cats are winning...I wonder if this says anything about retouchers? -- Doug
In my experience, my dogs want me to STOP retouching and take them outside to have fun; my cats are willing to let me stay at the computer -- as long as they have been fed, and I offer a comfy lap.

Thumbs down cats

I love animals, period, but definitely more of a cat person. I'm not sure if it's how I raise them or just a blessing, but I've always had very affectionate cats.... like this guy here who happens to be the world's schmooziest cat. If you don't pick him up and make a big fuss when you come in he is like a dog.

DJ a co-worker had found him on a streetcorner. She wanted to keep him but her dad said "either find him a home or take him to the pound". He's been at our house a little over 15 years.

He is without a doubt the smartest cat I've ever seen. It's amazing what this cat can do-when he wants too of course.

Looks like you rescued him from certain death. Or maybe he's rescued you from a boring home life with out his unique antics to liven up your lifestyle. They usually do. I think we loved watching our cats play more than TV sometimes.

We've got two dogs and now only one cat after we lost graham to old age two years ago. Allie cat is the only pet we actually got ourselves and is the remaining sister of two kittens we got "Kate and Allie"She is now 18 years old and still looks like a young cat. She is very aloof and only responds to me with any affection. The two dogs inherited from our son are ,Towser a"Staffy "and Zepalin a "Huntaway" are as someone previousely stated just another two of our kids with their good and bad characteristics,. I just know how devastating it is to lose a pet after having them for a lot of years, heartbreaking.love 'em all to bits

Well, I just love animals period.

I currently have a cat - Chester, a black & white tuxedo cat. And I love him to death. But I must admit I'm a dog person at heart. My old dog, Bud, had to be put to sleep a few years ago and I opted for a cat after that because it seemed easier than getting a puppy. I had Bud for 17 years, and it was heartbreaking to lose him.

Chester flat out refuses to wear a bandana, ride shotgun on road trips, play in the ocean with me, or chase a ball.

But, the ultimate choice for me wasn't an option. Horses have been my passion since I was old enough to say "horsee!"

although i love all living creatures, my choice for a house companion will always be a CAT.

here is Margaret, a long-hair mixed breed with an obvious Siamese somewhere in her family tree.

She just turned 18!
