CJ, I haven't seen that before. Thanks for the link. It really hits home, doesn't it?

Gary, thanks for the compliment on the dog. She's a good looking dog, but the best thing about her by far is that she is trained.

Doug, somehow I just don't think any replacement would be the same. I'll have to bide my time, which might not be too far down the road.

I have two cats. One is autistic but sweet, she simply lives here and ignores us mostly. BUT Paxel (my anti-depressant cat) is a big fat gray cat with soulful eyes. I have a chronic illness and he knows when I am ill and when my throat is sore. He lies next to me, puts one paw on each lymph node on either side of my neck and does the cat massage, sometimes for a very long time, and sometimes (when really sick) every 2-3 hours even through the night if I am awake. If I flinch due to a touchy node he stops immediately and cuddles close and purrs. Clearly he does this to heal and console me and not for his needs. He is my hero!

That was absolutely hilarious! Thanks.

It sounds like you have a million dollar cat. It's great that she can make you feel a little better.

I own a cat
Her name is Baby, because when we first got her and took her to the vet they asked me what her name was and the song baby love came into my head so I sang Baby Love oh Baby Love.
She is now about 13 years old but at times is still like a two year old.
I love dogs but can't have one, but if they had one that could take care of it self for a weekend and let it self out when your right at a great spot in a movie or tv show thats the dog for me.

Cats Cats Cats

I have been banned from owning a dog. I love them, I love the idea of owning one, but I suck at keeping them. I always end up training and selling. My biggest heart break was a white siberian husky named Thunder. He was dumb as a rock, but had a huge heart. He needed more room and more time then we had to give. We could see the happy light fading in his eyes. We sold him to a better home, but I will miss him forever.

We currently have two cats. Spook (10 years old) and Ash (2 years old). For now and perhaps forever I will remain a cat person. But I am jealous of everyone with a loving dog.

I wish more people had your attitude, there's too many people with dogs whose lifestyle doesn't really fit with them.

My niece has a Ridgeback, which she "loves", but which is sorely overweight due to lack of exercise.

I'm just getting ready to take my dogs out for their weekly "long" walk, (10-15 miles), rest of the time its about 2-3 miles a day. Can be a chore when the weather's bad, but at least they're keeping an old man in shape.

Not a cat man myself, but for some they are the ideal companions.

Better coffee (unless you had sugar in it) than soda pop, which my cat used to drown my keyboard. Notice I never use a "q" unless I have to ?
