The thread on photo-art inspired me to do something about getting more color into my house. All of my walls are painted the same shade of off-white and I wondered how they would look with some of the newer jewel tone shades. Anyway, I took some pictures of the rooms with my digital camera and then recolored the walls digitally until I came up with something I liked. I decided to start with the family room and eventually decided on a rich seafoam green which translated into a paint named "laurel". I next wanted to see how a sisal area rug would look on my white tile so I took my camera to a carpet store, took a few pictures and added a rug to my digital room. ...and so forth.
Might have a new business going on here! A few of my friends who dropped in to inspect the job want me to do the same thing with their rooms.Told them I'll do the photography but not the painting. One house is enough to paint!

Excellent way to go about it. My wife picks out the colors for *me* to put on the walls. She's not afraid of using color, and it really does make a difference. I like the idea of adding other things too. Great idea.
Sounds like you're on to something Paulette. Check out this site for help with color matching and coordinating. I use it for my photos but it's actually a paint site.

Thanks for the link to the color site. I should get alot of use out of it.
What I have been doing recently is trying to see if there is a pattern to artwork which I prefer-particularly from the color viewpoint. There is so much to color and preference that I want to figure out.
You know, although I use that site often, it never occurred to me to post it for you. Duuuhh!!
I'm going to post a new thread with the link in it for lots more see.
Thanks for dropping the brick guys.
