What I really need is some kind of monster sized bookshelf! ...too many books and no space!

Then, if you double them up vertically, you get 72 square feet. Now you're talking my language!

There is obviously no hope for me - Looking at Greg's office just makes me realise how small mine is! If I had a desk deeper than 30" I wouldn't be able to get through the door! At the moment my chair sits in the middle of the room - and I bang into the bookshelves behind me if I am not careful. I obviously need not only a bigger office but a bigger house!

lol I sympathise with the small house problem, since moving house to a flat I barely have enough room to swing my two cats, let alone get fancy ideas of office space - currently I am working on about 3ft of computer table, tucked into the 'cubby hole' in the hallway

I've learned that the more horizontal space you have, the more "stuff" you'll find or manufacture to pile on it. At work, I had a well-designed, corner work surface and most of the time, I couldn't find the top of it.

Because of space limitations at my apartment, my "office" is a small computer desk located in the kitchen - I don't have a kitchen table so I have to eat in the livingroom, balancing my plate on my knees. There is very little space to pile stuff and I find it's adequate.

I spent the last couple of weeks visiting my brother and his wife and used their computer while I was there. After a couple of days, I began to notice that their formerly pristine work surface was looking like mine at home. How embarrassing.

Take care, Margaret

7 or 8 tongue and groove boards knocked together combined with a couple of s/h double filing cabinets makes a solid serviceable desk for little money. I unearthed my boards from a demolished church so my desk is probably 'blessed' !!
