I just went and did a net search to see if there were some younger pics of Fountain--and came across the actual clarinet player I was thinking of: Henry Cuestra! I also saw some other people from that Welk show like Tom Netherton and Anacani.

I was also recalling the Hee Haw program: Grandpa Jones (What's for Supper?), Buck Owens, Roy What's His Name. Around 1979 my Dad bought a cassette tape of the Grand Ol' Opry (1926-1974)...and I took to that music in a big way. I still enjoy listening to Lonzo & Oscar's "I'm My Own Grandpa" and The Carter Family's "I'm Thinking Tonight Of My Blue Eyes" and Kitty Wells "How Far Is Heaven"....I have to get this on CD before the cassette is truly worn out!

Well..I had a great time this evening (took at break from Photoshopping) and listened to music clips for various genres at the Amazon.com site. It doesn't look like I can get the exact Grand Ole Opry album (or cassette) on CD--but there are some other Grand Opry collections. How about Johnnie & Jack's "Ashes of Love" and Minnie Pearl's "Jealous Hearted Me"--she could sure play the piano!!!

I love all music except extreme punk and acid rock. You should have seen my 11 year old daughter roll her eyes upwards this evening when I played all of Donny and Marie's music clips--plus Shaun Cassidy's Do Run Run Rin song! She's amazed that some of the music she finds sorta acceptable debut around the time of her birth! ;-)

My mainstay is Cecila Bartoli, Andrea Bocelli, The Braxton Brothers (smooth jazz), Boney James, Oleta Adams, Eva Cassidy, James Taylor...and of course my little bit of Grand Ole Opry! Hee-Haw!
