Flash loading movie on my site...

I just started learning how to use Flash in the creation of my web site. Today I put a "loading animation" on the front of my site, but I have no idea if it is working because my site loads up to fast for me to see it.

Can you also tell me how fast my site is taking to load please.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Aric, I counted about 10 flashes of the "loading..." sign before the site came up. (I think that equates to 10-15 seconds.) I've got a cable connection.

I had seen these images of people that finally appear before, in anither thread somewhere. When i saw them THEN, each pic came up one at a time (while the others were busy loading undetected by me) and gave me something to look at and read (that was different) as I waited for the next one. I found THAT better than what you have now. I think the "loading", especially on 56k dialup, to be something I probably wouldn't wait the 30 seconds for if it hadn't been YOU I was looking at it for. Just my 2 cents...

I understand what you are saying. The reason I inserted this new "loading movie" is because I have gotten a call from a client that said all they got was a white screen. I figured out that they were just waiting for the first image to load, so I felt I needed to put something there to let the surefer know that something was happening.

Hi Aric, I have a DSL connection and a short attention span, but your site passed the test for me in terms of wait time.

It pauses on the image about the photoshop classes leaving me with the impression that classes is all you're about. From what you've said elsewhere, classes are something new you're offering and not your main business.

I suggest inserting one more image with your "business card" after the classes and have it pause on the card listing more of your services.

Flash is on the list of things I want to learn - it looks so cool, I can hardly wait.

Take care, Margaret
