I believe that is a photo from the Scripps Ranch area. Many of the homes there had wooden shake roofs. That used to be the "in" roof several years ago. Most of the newer homes these days have tile roofs. That particular home does not appear to have a shake roof.

The homes that I saw "untouched" in the Crest area had tile roofs. I'm sure that is not the only factor; however, it did seem to be a factor.
