| | | Semi-Retirement Just an FYI....
The studio I worked for has closed it's doors. It's a shame, but a common state of affairs in my area. I'm taking this "opportunity" to give myself a break. Although I love restoration and retouching, I'm feeling burnt out (I think the demands of the work have taken the "fun" out of it.) So, for the time being, I won't be accepting any new jobs. I do have some other interest I'd like to pursue, and maybe after a break, I'll get back into the business. Anyway, I just wanted to share that information with the members.

| | | Congrats on your semi-retirement. But that doesn't mean you can't visit us on a regular basis. You've been one of the mainstays of the site. We wouldn't want to lose you.

| | | Vicki,
What Ed said.
I just want you to know that you were the first person on this site to totally knock my socks off - you are appreciated!
Thanks,

| | I think "semi-retirement" is an oxymoron, isn't it?
Seriously, Vikki, I hope this change of scenery allows you to cut loose and pursue some of those creative projects that have been "on hold" for way too long. Along the lines of what Roger said, what you bring to the table has inspired many.
Happy new opportunties ahead.

| | | Thanks guys!
I still plan on hanging out in the forums. I'll be working on my own family photos (put on hold for years), but at a pace that's comfortable. I wanted to make this announcement here, because I occasionally get work requests from forum members, and I don't want someone to feel slighted if I refuse the work.
Danny, I do have some other creative paths I'd like to explore, and now I'll have the time. Still, everything I'm interested in, has to do with images, so I'm not straying too far. |

| | | Hi Vikki,
Sorry to read of the business closing.
Your work is exceptional and you should feel confident that whatever career you pursue (after your semi-retirement, of course), your talent will shine through.

Sometimes we all need to get our batteries charged and head in a new direction. Good luck in your pursuits. Have fun with those family photos, nothing like having yourself as a Customer.
I'm glad my Coloration Mentor will still be visiting the forums.

| | | Best wishes! Hey, Vikki, I'm not around here a whole lot anymore (now into taking pictures instead of restoring...although restoring is still my passion) but just wanted to let you know I wish you the very best in whatever route you take. You were one of the people I always perked up for when I saw advice, input, etc, because you knew what you were talking about. Your advice could be counted on. Its called "The Voice of Experience" and you had it.
My very best wishes to you! |
