Gee, guys, you were so busy chatting away I nearly overslept. Didn't wake up until 5 AM Pacific time this morning.

I have to agree with the Lord of the Rings reviews, at least as far as the books. I haven't seen the movies.

Regarding our present piximage, no it isn't either Groucho or good ol' Ern although they are very good guesses.

This person was once named the Best New Radio Artist for a particular year.

Good morning Janet--not David or Vincent either.

While he was a big star on US radio and went on to television, he was known internationally in more than one genre.

No, sorry none of those either.

Not his native tongue, he had a lot of fun with the English language.

Well, thanks for the great hint, MaryLynn! That MUST mean Victor Borge! I loved seeing him since I was a child, and finally saw him in person not many years before his death -- a creative, wildly funny man!

http://www.kor.dk/borge/b-mus-1.htm -- you can listen to his Phonetic Punctuation System or listen to him play (eventually) "Happy Birthday" as Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Irving Berlin, etc.

The next pixel star is a female performer:
