Question Knockout 2 vs Automask 4.6?

Does anyone have any experience with either of these plug-ins? Huge difference in cost, but don't know if either one really works for fur. Looks like neither has a trial version, tech support or tutorials.

Before spending $$ on either, invest in and learn the masking techniques described in Katrin Eismann's book, Photoshop Masking and Compositing. Doing so will elevate your PS skills significantly and could very well save you a boatload of money.

I love Photoshop and hate buying any other software or plug-ins. But after trying Corel Knockout, I won't go without now. I get great results.

Danny is right about Katrins book.

There is a lot of masking potential in PS. Unfortunetly it is not easy to do until you find the right ways of going about it.
For instance with calculations and apply image you can isolate out any color or brightness level very easily.
Silo's are a lot easier with the same procedures.
Knockout,Maskpro, and human softwares masking program are all excellent choices and can be time savers, but everything they ddo can be done as easily in PS once you figure out the work arounds, and Katrin's boo is a great place to start.

Here is a link to a pdf of a article I did some years ago for PEI magazine. Maybe it will help. Since PEI is gone now the image files do not exist, but the technique will give you a good starting point. And it can all be actioned off at a later time for expediency.

Knock OUt

I just found kock out for mac on ebay ... very inexpensive, however, I asked the seller if it worked with PS 7 or CS, since the docs only say it works with 6, but it does say it works with OSX... The seller's response was, "I think so." lol, Does anyone have any knowledge in this area?
Thanks in advance.
