FTP Software

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a great FTP software package that is browser based to avoid clients needing FTP Software???

It would need admin so you could set up client account for passwords etc and it would be great to have a progress bar to see how the transfer is going...

Obviosly it would be uploaded onto the webserver and then simply accessed through a website...

Any help would be fantastic or suggestion for that matter...

If you are Windows based, why not just use DOS? That's what I use.

You can also use IE itself.

ftp://{address} where address is your actual FTP site. May need to set the securities accordingly; not difficult. Better if you have an IT support person to do this for you.

i think he's talking about server-side, guys; something he can install on his server to let others access via passwords and browsers.

Ahh, yes Craig, now that I read this a second time, I believe you are right.

I use WinSCP3, which is a free download, is easy to use. It must be, I use it. I've had no complaints from those on the other end who dig out my pictures either.

Hope this helps.

FTP on a server

Craig was correct i am after a software package that can be uploaded to a serve off site but then allows people via a browser to collect files or send files, They of course would need a user name and password but then that would be it no actual ftp client.

So again any suggestions would be great and I am quite happy if the programme costs I just want something easy to use and reliable...

thanks again everyone for your help...!
