Poser 5 for FREE!

Well, it seems that the folks over in 3-D world are falling over themselves to give stuff away.
Last week it was Bryce 5 now it's Poser 5. (http://www.contentparadise.com )

As with the Bryce give-away it is not the latest version - but it's pretty close to Poser 6.....

......and you can't beat the price.
(You do have to register, but that's free too)

Ken...

At the top of the page click on "Software" then "Poser." Once that page loads you should see some product thumbnails in the "Related Products" section. Free Poser 5 should be the second item. Click on that to go to the Poser 5 page. Add it to your cart and then click "Checkout."

Since you've already registered, you should be taken right to the invoice/download page. Look carefully at this page... the serial number is provided here. Anyway, there are two files to download totalling over 630MB! EEK!

Thank You Racc.

From your instructions I have found the download page but there is no serial number on the page.

I don’t want to get this wrong because it is a 27 hour download on my modem
Should I just download it? Or do I need the serial number first?

It may be better to download this on my friends PC with Broadband.

You get the serial in the confirmation e-mail.

I have Poser 6 and wanted to get 5 to check backward compatability, however two download have aborted already (still got 8 more chances).

Ken...

I saw that page along the way. That's where you choose between Mac/PC. It doesn't quite look like you've made it to the check out page.

Since I had not registered before that, it was right after I cose the platform that it said I had to register and took me to the registration page.

Download Limit Reached
Due the high demand for the Poser 5 free download your download has been delayed temporarily please wait several hours before attempting to download again.
We apologize for the inconvenience however your Poser 5 free download will remain available to you through the MyStuff tab indefinitely.
It looks like they are very busy but at least I have a copy reserved. I will try again later

Has anyone got this yet?

I have just been reading the forum at Content Paradise and it seems everyone is having problems. I am now getting a ‘Page not found’ error.

I believe that everyone is having problems because the Poser program now costs $19.95 just like Art Rage. The product is great for the price.

Be aware that these "give aways" are a great way for the companies to get you hooked to buy all the needed figures and accessories.

I got Daz free a while back and after fighting with a very badly designed program and very few included accessories to work with, I gave up and trashed the whole thing.

Poser may be better...but remember to not expect too much to work with to be included free.

Cameraken...

I had a lot of trouble on the second download, I tried many times over several days... I kept getting all of the above messages which resulted in me not being able to download it at all, but last night, instead of trying to use the link that was provided (in e-mail) for me to get it, I tried the FIRST e-mail that was sent to me.
That e-mail was entitled, "Content Paradise: Sign-in Notification".
If you click on the, "Click Here to Register" link in that fist e-mail, it will allow you to download it, or at least it did let me. I do remember reading on one of the register pages that if you've already signed up, it would be available to you at any time, so don't be too worried about how long it's been.
This is the link for, "Click Here to Register", in case it will work for you.

I hope this helps.

Randy

Thanks Randy.

That was a great tip.

The whole lot downloaded in two hours and has installed perfectly.

So I’ve got my super Hero cape and utility belt, now all I need is a very simple tutorial.

Thanks again. I would never have thought of that.

No problem Ken, I accidently found it myself, and for while there I figured I'd never get the program at all... heh

Good luck on that tutorial, but I actually found it best (for me) to just play around, and not have any expectations of perfection.
That way, if I lose something, it's no big deal, and believe me, I have.
One thing I have definitely learned using Poser is, always ave, save as much as possible, and, sometimes that doesn't even help.

Poser 5

I have acually been able to download it also, however, they did not provide me with a serial number, so i can't even open the program.
as far as tutorials... they have a little something in .pdf format that kind of explains "how to pose". the program looks great, i just cant use my copy...

Didn't you receive a confirmation e-mail? The serial number is there.
