Dumb mac question...

Well I feel really dumb asking this but here goes: It used to be when I would double click on the icon of a PSD file it would automatically open in Photoshop. I don't know what happened, but now if I click NOTHING aaarrrggghhh, and I have to open the file through photoshop. Anyone know how to get it back to normal?

This used to happen when i would just copy the app over to another computer...is this the case?...if so, you will need to reinstall. If not, right click (control click) on a psd file, and select photoshop to open with...if that doesnt work, try a repair permissions (disk utility).

more than likely, a reinstall is in order as it sounds like you copied the app icon over from another computer.

I don't think it would be necessary to go throught pain and hassle of a clean install etc. You should be able to "get info" on the file that you want (the .psd file). Go to "open with" in that window and select the app: PSCS2 or whatever. Then press the button underneath "Use this application to open all documents like this" and change all. That should do the trick.

Photo678, I don't mean to contradict you on the clean install but I do want to add that you are probably right it does have to do with permissions etc. Sometimes the computer just forgets what the hell is going on.
