Vista RC1 removal on dual boot Boot in to Windows XP as normal, place your Vista RC1 DVD in your drive and go to: Start and Run. Type in “e:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force” (without quotes, and replacing e: with the drive letter of your Vista DVD). Once it's finished reboot your PC to make sure XP boot loader is back to normal, then format your vista partition or drive to remove the files Thats it, done and dusted

Re: Vista RC1 removal on dual boot As it is a trial/test version, I thought MS would have made this info a little more accessible to the public. But at least it's out and about round the net via forums etc. I know a few people here have been trying Vista RC1, so thought I would put it up, just in case people are wondering how to remove it. I've seen some horror stories of re-installing from scratch or using XP disc and repair tool etc to get rid of it, even though there is this simple method

Re: Vista RC1 removal on dual boot Yes, RC1 = Release candidate 1 . This was the version released to the public as a trial for download. Official testers had RC2 and some lucky people got RTM versions.
