Re: Photoshop CS3: Adobe announces "flavors" (package options)

I guess the Extended version will be good for those who need the extra tools, but I don't foresee that I will need it.

My major concern is what will be included in the Creative Suite? And when will CS3 (the full suite) be available? All these versions of Photoshop (web based, CS3, CS3 Extended) can get confusing.

You know, Adobe spent a lot of time creating and marketing the "Creative Suite" package targeted to DTP professionals. Now they are breaking it up and releasing the Suite elements at different times and different versions? So those of us who spent the big bucks to purchase the "Suite" are left in a quandry. If we update to PS CS3, do we get a discount when we update our CS3 Premium package or will we be paying for PS CS3 again? Or do we just wait until the entire Suite is updated? I haven't heard much about a project release date for the Premium Suite update.

+1

Seems like they might do away with image ready in that version, perhaps

ImageReady is definitely done as a stand alone application. Many features/functions apparently ported to PS CS3.

For more info Google: CS3 imageready

Re: Photoshop CS3: Adobe announces "flavors" (package options)

Thanks for the link, Mike.

Announcements and shipping are two different birds. I've heard there are some great new features in InDesign, but nothing specific has been mentioned. There are only two features I'd really like to see added to Illustrator... Easier Button Text (double curved) and the ability to set a individual line screens for different elements in a design. Been begging for these two features for years and years and they are the main reason I continue to use FreeHand.

I don't use Image Ready so no loss to me.
