| I'm having trouble adding presets to the fmachine ini in Windows Vista. It keeps telling me it can't save the file. |

| Re: Paint Engine and Vista Quote:
Wild thought to try in the mean time... * Move fmachine.ini somewhere else, e.g., somewhere in \My Documents * Create a shortcut for fmachine.ini in its new location * Drag the shortcut into \Windows [or whatever it's named in Vista] a. Can PE see fmachine.ini via shortcut, that is are the presets displayed in the dropdown window? b. Can you add/delete settings this way? Keep us posted. |

| Re: Paint Engine and Vista Ahhh how we love Vista.... If you have an admin user account in Vista changing the permissions of the individual file in the /windows directory is no problem... Right click file -> Properties Image1: Security Tab -> select Users(Username\users) -> click the Edit Button Image2: Select Users(Username\users) -> put a Check in the box for 'Write' Click apply/OK until the windows are all gone and you can now open the C:\windows\fmachine.ini file in notepad, modify it and save it. |
