| | | Save for web and Safari Does anyone have any idea why Save for web in Photoshop won't open a file in Safari. I have both IE and Safari added to my pull down menu in the bottom right but only IE will show the flle. Safari will open a new window but it will just go to my home page and won't display anything. Anyone else have this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.
Sincerely Syd |

| | | Re: Save for web and Safari Swampy, thanks...ver 3.0.3 I presume it is the latest version as I only downloaded it recently. I am running it on a Windows PC. At the bottom right of the Save for Web screen (just to the left of the Open in Image Ready tab) is a downward pointing arrow that lets you select you browser for a preview. I have added both Safari and IE to this tab but only IE will actually open a preview. Safari will indeed open a new window (so something is happpening) but the preview never appears.

| | | Re: Save for web and Safari Just for info. Can you save the file for Web to your desktop then run Safari and use it's Open File to see the picture? This by passes the obvious Save for Web browser preview, but I'd be interested to know if you can view the file in Safari without using the preview.
What version of PhotoShop? |

| | | Re: Save for web and Safari Yes, Swampy can open the file in Safari using the Open File feature. Never knew about that. It's neat. Thanks! But still can't do it from Save for Web in Photoshop. I am using CS2.

| | | Re: Save for web and Safari Evidently, it's deliberate. It seems Safari would run malicious scripts if they have .jpg or .zip appended to the filename, so Apple turned off automatic viewing of these files in Safari (which is why you have to use Open File). |

| | | Re: Save for web and Safari Thanks Doug. That's a pity. I really like the Safari interface. So much more cleaner than IE. But IE still has some functions that Safari doesn't. For instance, if I hover over a jpeg in the forums, IE will tell me the name, size etc. of the jpeg whereas Safari is blank. Also, IE will open a pic to fit your screen size and then you can enlarge if you choose to. Safari, on the other hand, will just open it at its largest size.
