RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer

Here is something I thought I would share. I am rather embarrassed that it took me so long to catch on though! I suspect that everyone is going to say that they had this a long time ago or that they have an even better software. Anyway, it has always frustrated me that I can't view RAW thumbnails with File>Open in Photoshop or view them in Windows. The only way to view them is to open them in Bridge or memorize the filenames! And while I like the Bridge interface, and it has great organisational capabilities, it seems kind of unnecessary to run it just to view RAW images especially seeing that my memory resources are limited. However, there may just be a few of you who, like me, are a bit slow on the uptake and for those of you this will be a great help. It is the Microsoft Raw Image Thumnailer and Viewer and even though it was first released at the end of 2005 I only found out about it today! Yes, it will handle most Canon and Nikon models. Here's a full list:

The software supports the following image types:
Canon EOS RAW images (.crw, .cr2, .tif)
Nikon Electronic Format images (.nef)

thanks for this, syd. i got it, installed it, and it works fine. and whereas i have cs2 which can handle raws very nicely, this MS piece is very slick for quick viewing when you dont want to wait for cs2 to load. and, if all you want is to open the raw and save as a .tiff, this is a VERY fast way to do it, again, saving the hassle of opening cs2 or 3. and, in my case, where i mostly use paint shop pro, i can simply open the raws in this viewer, save as .tiffs and then view and work on the .tiffs in psp. psp does handle some raw files, but not all of them and you have to know the original raw data, so this viewer makes things a lot easier for psp users too.
