Macro recorder needed

Looking for a good macro recorder for Vista.

A long (long) time ago I used a nifty recorder that recorded the actual window and API location of where you clicked with a mouse, not just the coordinates. It would record that you clicked on the Photoshop Gaussian Blur filter menu entry, not just that your mouse clicked at 80,1008 in Photoshop. I've forgotten its name. Does such a thing still exist?

Re: Macro recorder needed

that would be pretty cool. i'd like one that also told you the disk path. but, never having seen the original you mentioned, i dont know of any current offspring either.

i used to have some links to some rather obscure windows utility pages, stuff you'll just never see from Norton or M$. but that was some time ago and they may not still exist on my machine. i'll have to have a look again. and no, i'm not talking about hacker apps. it was stuff that went beyond M$ tweakUI and x-teq and that sort. in fact, if you can find a program called 'total uninstall', i highly recommend it. it's an API tracker on software installs and NOTHING gets by it, so when it comes time to remove that piece of software, NOTHING gets missed and NOTHING gets left behind. and, it was free.
