Painter question

I haven't had Painter very long. But lately, whenever I open a file, the default size is really really small, like 10%. So everytime I have to adjust the window itself and then zoom the photo larger.

I'm pretty sure it didn't do this when I first got Painter. So there must be a setting somewhere that I have messed up. I have looked, but can't figure out what will change it to a more normal default size when opening a file.

Does anybody know what I'm talking about?
thanks!!

Let's see...

I always understood that when you open up an image in Painter, it will scale the size (down) to fit in the available workspace.

If you're getting 10%, that would mean that the image is some 5000 pixels high - is that the case?

Re: Painter question

It is definitely NOT filling up the available workspace. That's what I would like it to do. These are mostly just images from here at ReTouch, so nothing even close to 5000 pixels. The height of the image window fills the available height of workspace. The width fills maybe 1/6th (I'm working on a laptop). And the image itself fills the width but not the height of the image window.
This is so hard to describe. I will try to take a picture.
thanks
