You could use something like Genuine Fractals to increase the resolution of the pic. Like anything that involves pixel manipulation there will be a slight effect on quality. The higher res the original pic the better the end result (good quality RAW of TIFF).

If you are working with a heavily compressed artifacts the uprezzing won't get rid of them.

Perhaps if you could explain your project a bit I can give you a better suggestion.

Thanks.

Re: Image / Photo Zoom Software

Thanks, I will look into it. I have been searching and I located an app called PhotoZoom 2 which can be found here

I am wondering if there is another similar application ? Also does anyone know of anything that I can use to make images appear antique ?

Thanks again

Ian

Genuine Fractals (GF), BlowUp and PhotoZoom are the 3 main competing products that essentially do the same thing.

Depending on the image sometimes PhotoZoom may look best other times Genuine Fractals may to a better job or (BlowUp)

For the the antique look:

Don't forget to look into those :

SAR : http://www.general-cathexis.com/
Smart Edge : http://audio.rightmark.org/lukin/gra...resampling.htm
Zoom Engine : http://www.mehdiplugins.com/english/zoomengine.htm

You may want to look at Resizor as well, it's not as performant as the above but there are plenty of different resampling algos to choose from :

Re: Image / Photo Zoom Software

I use OnOne Software's Genuine Fractals. It came in a bundle with other excellent photo correction/manipulation plug ins. GF is excellent stuff. I managed to take a 300 DPI PDF of line artwork (that included text) from about 2 x 3 up to 18 x 24 for a poster and the result was terriffic.

I'm sold both on the quality and utility of the OnOne plug ins and their cutomer support.
