I just noticed that the "new" "$595" Lucisart 2 is ready to be downloaded and evaluated. Has any one done so? You have a 30 day evaluation. During the next 30 days I will be on vacation for two weeks, so I plan to wait until I return. However, if any one does download and evaluate please provide feedback and examples of any thing you did that you feel was "impressive". Based on your review, do you feel the market price is reasonable? If not, then what would you pay. For those without LA1, I guess ya gotta pay! Maybe this is the answer we have been looking for to solve the Dave Hill dilemma.

Skydog, that's not correct.

LucisArt 2 is the revived "classic" version, which had been discontinued but is now back until at least 9/1, at which time LucisArt 3 will replace it (at a price inbetween LucisArt 2 and Lucis Pro 6).

Lucis Pro 6 is the high end $595 version, scheduled for release 8/11.

So the good news is there is an alternative to the top shelf version.

Glad for the update...so no difference in 2 and 1? So why only back until 1 Sept?

I just checked my copy and version 2.1 is from 2002... So I don't know what 1 was! ;-)

As for the cutoff date, the developer is giving those who suddenly expressed interest the opportunity to buy what was meant to be discontinued, but that is only a temporary situation so version 3 can be released.

I'm told the cutoff date for LucisArt 2 can slip later than 9/1 (and LucisArt 3's release may slip as well), but there's no guarantee.

Interesting. I talked to the developer last year when the new version was originally going to be launched and I was told it was delayed due to technical reasons. Do you know if there are still problems?

Nothing major, just the usual development process stuff. Should be getting very close as I understand it.
