Brush Resizing in Photoshop CS3 on a Mac This may be a silly question, but I can't seem to find a solution. I recently switched from pc to mac, and so far everything is great. However, there is one rather annoying thing I can't seem to solve. In Photoshop CS3 on Windows, when I held down the right or left bracket keys to resize my brush, I could watch the cursor change in size accordingly. In OS X, however, the cursor doesn't change size until I release the bracket key. This makes it difficult to determine the size that the brush is actually going to be. Anybody know how to solve this?

Re: Brush Resizing in Photoshop CS3 on a Mac Check your Keyboard and Mouse preferences and adjust the "Repeat" and "Delay" sliders. Set the Repeat toward "fast" and the Delay slider toward short.

Re: Brush Resizing in Photoshop CS3 on a Mac Gee, Jam, I have no further clue. Do you see the pixel size of the brush changing in the option bar when you hold down a bracket key? Some of the brush options in PS do not show the size of the brush tip. I think only "normal" and "full size" do (PS Prefs/Cursors). The only other thing that might affect this would be in your Mac Keyboard/Mouse system prefs. Does repeat work in a text base program (MS Word or Text Edit, email etc.) when you hold down a text key?

Re: Brush Resizing in Photoshop CS3 on a Mac I'll test that out and give it a shot. Hopefully I can get this figured out, this tends to be a bit frustrating. I'll let you know what I find out.

Re: Brush Resizing in Photoshop CS3 on a Mac Photoshop's default brush set has far too many brushes in it, IMO. Who ever needs brushes every 10 pixels? I've made myself a custom set that has only about 20 brushes in it - each about 150% of the last. Eg 1px 2px 4px 6px 9px 13px 20px 30px 45px 70px 100px 150px 220px 330px 500px 750px 1200px 1800px. So if I'm using a 20px brush, I only need to hit the > key half a dozen times and I've got a brush about 10 times that size, if you know what I mean. It saves plenty of time.
