TPL brush loading problem

I only use Photoshop occasionally, so I need some info.

I want to load some TPL format brushes and my two versions of PS...PS6 and PS Elements 4.0...will not take them.

Can anyone tell me if PS Elements 5 or 6 will use this type brush? I believe PS 7 will, but don't really want to spend the money for something I use only once in a while.

Thanks.

Steve C.

Re: TPL brush loading problem

Steve have you saved them into the right folder?

for example. - (your drive):\Program Files\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Tools

I believe they won't load unless you do.

Re: TPL brush loading problem

Actually, .tpl files can be loaded from any location on your hard drive, but they must be loaded using either the Preset Manager or from the Preset drop down selection menu in Photoshop.

Talking Re: TPL brush loading problem

Thanik you Palms and Swampy.

Yeah, I was about to mention that there is no "tools" folder in the preset manager of PS 6 or PSE 4.

I have loaded brushes in these two programs before, but they were all "ABR" format.

Oh well...back to PSP............it's been good to me so far.
